I just had this sent to me via e-mail from a retired gynecologist I am friends with. I thought it contained pretty good advice.
Edited to say: I messed up. There are no dioxins in plastic apparently (someone just sent me another e-mail saying it was a hoax.) Boy am I ever naive and gullible, someone sends me something and I just buy it hook line and sinker. I am sorry for the previous post.
Here is the REAL information apparently. I'm sorry for posting something that wasn't true, I didn't realize at the time that it was a hoax.
Blessings, Lori
OC&PA: What do you make of this recent email warning that claims dioxins can be released by freezing water in plastic bottles?
RH: No. This is an urban legend. There are no dioxins in plastics. In addition, freezing actually works against the release of chemicals. Chemicals do not diffuse as readily in cold temperatures, which would limit chemical release if there were dioxins in plastic, and we don’t think there are.
