Why does bladder inflammation make your lower back hurt? Does anyone know?

:welcome: to the board.
Sometimes pain in the back is referred pain from other parts of the body, including the bladder, and sometims pain in the back can cause pain in the bladder. It's all due to the nerves and the routes they travel.
Thats probably not the only explanation, but it is a possibility.
Do a search on the board for referred pain....I'm sure you'll come up with some similar answers.
Take care, Sandy

I agree wtih Sandy -- several doctors have explained to me that the nerves going into and out of the pelvis are rather jumbled together, and therefore may get confused during times of inflammation, leading to the phenomenon of referred pain. IC pain can refer to the back, the thighs, and even the feet!
However, if back pain is a new symptom for you, I would discuss it with your doctor -- we have a tendency to blame things on IC, but sometimes it's not the culprit at all. Better safe than sorry :)

No, back pain is my oldest symptom. I was just curious!
