Velocity by Dean Koontz? My books just came in today from my book club, and I ordered that, as well as The Nosy Neighbor by Fern Michaels (I read another book of her's, Pretty Woman--excellent book!!) and Heartbreak Hotel by Jill Marie Landis.

Velocity looks soooo good, I can't wait to start it. This bartender gets off work and finds a note for him saying that if he doesn't take this note to the police a young, blonde school teacher will be murdered. If he does take the note to the police, an elderly woman involved in numerous charities will be killed. So he has to choose between the two. He shows it to a cop friend and the cop says it's a hoax. The next day, on the news, they say a blonde, young school teacher was brutally murdered. Then another note comes for him where he has to pick between two more people.

I love Dean Koontz novels! The Fern Michaels book looks good too, as does the Heartbreak Hotel book. And if you get a chance, definitely give Pretty Woman a look over--I've re-read that book three times already!! (I was in desperate need of new books, I was getting sick of all my old ones...and you can only get so involved in "What To Expect When You're Expecting" :biglaugh: )

Hugs,
Jess

The Nosy Neighbor was good. I can't remember what is was about now, as I read all the time (or when I have the time too- between work, home, kids, etc) but I do read her books, Karen Harpers, Nora Roberts, Lisa Jackson, you name it and I'll read it. Happy Reading!!

One time on a long road trip we listened to a Dean Koontz book on CD. I did not like it at all, and it has turned me off of all Dean Koontz books. I think it was called Hard Rain or something like that. Maybe I just had the bad luck of picking his one bad book :) Let us know if your new one is good.

Well I read it from front to back in one day, I just couldn't put it down. It was not my favorite one of his books...there are a few others I love. My favorite was called Intensity--now THAT is a good book. I just read one of his last year, and I can't remember the name of it, but it was really good. Anyway, if you are gonna try another Koontz book, give Intensity a read. They made it for t.v. as well on Lifetime once, and the movie version was good too.

The book I was thinking of was "Taking" by Dean Koontz. Didn't care for it, but I may have to check out the books you recommended!
