I am just writing to thank you all for the information. I had been reading about prelief from all of you. I had not tried it because the current getting better flare was 4 months without any cheat time on the strictest IC diet I could.

My youngest daughter got married in July of this year. She called Wednesday night to invite us to their new house for dinner. I cooked Lasagna and peach cobbler. I just didn't want to say no to the first dinner she ever cooked me.

I called all over town to find the product and started taking 2 in the afternoon for precaution. I took 2 more at dinner and 2 more at bedtime.

NO PAIN. It was wonderful.

She remembered when we were setting the table that I don't eat either of these dishes. It was a relief to me to say it was OK when she was just starting to cry. I said it would be OK and just held my breathe.

It was so great to call her the next day to tell her how much we enjoyed the visit and the food was great. I was up and feeling good too.

Thank you all for the Prelief information. I won't be without it.

That is great to hear. I know when I first got married and started to become the main cook of the house everything I made had tomatoe sause in it....and then my IC (which I probably had for 10 years prior) flarred majorly and I finally got diagnosed...and had no idea what to cook.

Anyway, Lately I have been able to add some tomatoe sause back into my diet with the help of treatments and things like prelief to help me tollerate what I eat....it really is a blessing when cheating a bit on the diet doesn't mean you cry afterwards. :grouphug:

I carry a bottle of prelief in my purse. I have a bottle also on my kitchen table at all times. I have to drive 50 miles one way to get it, so I buy 4 bottles at a time.
Once I thought I'll try some orange juice after taking my prelief.... I was on the toilet within 20 minutes with a IC flare up... I won't try orange juice again, that's for sure.

I was wondering if anyone out there has used the Prelief powder? I had purchased some of the powder from their website. One thing I have noticed is that when I mix it with something like coffee, I end up with little things floating on the top of the coffee. It's like it won't dissolve even with lots of stirring.

I was reading the posts about how well Prelief has worked for others. I have the tablets on hand, maybe I should try taking them. I have trouble swalllowing pills bigger than Advil. Has anyone ever cut them in half to take them OR broken them up to take?

On another note, is there anyone out there who is taking Hydroyxzine & VESIcare and also taking Acidophilus w/Bifidus too? A friend of mine who also has IC was telling me how she takes them PLUS B complex vitamins and she has noticed they they do help. She HAS not done the IC diet, she just tries to cut out the sugar.

Hi Kim, I don't see why it would hurt if you split them...I too hate swallowing pills, and the smaller they are the better!!;) I have accidentally ended up chewing them up (blech!!!), when they wouldn't go down the first couple times, lol. Love the stuff though!!

Hugs!

Dear Kim:

I have a few suggestions....if you are using Prelief powder in coffee, put the Prelief in last and it should dissolve completely.

You can break the tablets in half, chew them (although a bit chalky), or crush them between two spoons into a powder.

I hope this is helpful....if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at 1-800-994-4711 or bcorson@akpharma.com.
