View Full Version : Has anyone ever worn diapers?

I don't have any incontinence at all, but I go to the bathroom 10+ times a night because I have terrible urgency every time I lie down, even if I have just emptied my bladder. The insomnia is terrible. I wish I could ignore the feeling of urgency since I know it's false, but my body tenses up to make sure I don't wet the bed, and I can't relax.

Sometimes I get so depressed that I think about wearing diapers so that I can fall asleep without worrying about when to get up and go to the bathroom. I lie there wishing a nurse would come catheterize me so that I could just lie there and stay there. Seriously, has anyone put diapers on to get some rest?

Hi Mair! No, I haven't but just wanted to let you know I can relate! In the beginning, when I was first diagnosed, and before all the meds had their chance to do their thing, it was a though that crossed my mind! ;) It seems nighttime is awful, cause all is quiet and you have nothing else to focus on, but how much your bladder is being a pain! LOL! At least during the day, I can be distracted and going to the bathroom not such an inconvenience as when in bed.

Hugs!

Yes, I wear diapers on long car trips and sometimes when away from home for extended time. Once I was stuck in traffic (due to a car accident-- I was not involved in it)for over an hour and I urinated all over myself and the car. I am now scared that will occur again.

Yes, I do when flaring and often at night to help me sleep. Sometimes it just allows me to relax the musscles enough to sleep. :grouphug:

I've done it before on a long car trip -- I didn't end up using the diaper but it made me feel more secure, like if we got stuck somewhere and I REALLY had to go I could do so.
