I haven't been on the boards in awhile, so I thought I'd post to let everyone know that I've been feeling great since my hydrodistension at the end of May. I had a little discomfort at first, but with some pyridium, I got through it just fine. I've been feeling about 99% normal since then....just a few twinges here and there.

I remember the love and support you all gave me when I first came to this site, and felt like my diagnosis of IC was the end of the world. You were all right - there is hope and some of us do actually feel better with treatment! :woohoo: Thank you so much and I hope you can all feel the relief of remission soon.

I don't know how long I'll feel good, but I can't think that way. I'm just going to take it one day at a time. :)

Hi,
It's nice to meet you, I don't think that I know you ;) but, I was just going to stop by and say Congrats on feeling better, I'm in remission myself have been for a while too but, I don't get as much time on the boards either as I would like.
My Schedule is pretty booked with a 2 1/2 yr old Daughter and a full time job and a moody DH if you've read my post on just venting lol ;)
Seriously I'm glad that you're feeling much much better and keep up the good work.
Congrats once again!
Nice to meet you, I'm Kate by the way guess you figured that out though ;)

Yes please let us know exactly what you took and for how long, did you have 1 hydro? Which one was it ) were you taking elmiron?....and so on.

Thanks alot :)

I was on Elmiron and Hydroxyzine for a few months before the hydro. This was my first hydro and I stopped the Elmiron before the surgery, as I was also having a biopsy done and since it's a blood thinner I stopped it. My uro said since I was feeling good after the hydro, that I didn't need to start taking the Elmiron again, and that if my symptoms returned, we'd do another hydrp. I'm not taking anything now, except 2 Algonon Cystoprotek per day, just to be safe. keeping my fingers crossed!

Thank you all!

Congratulations! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I have been in remission also (as of June of this year). Actually, I was on the same meds as you and I tried some other natural remedys. The hydro's worked wonders for me.

I hope you stay in remission for a very long time...
