I am flaring real bad

I am flaring real bad my dr. sent my urine off to the lab to be tested for an uti and my uro is not back in his office to oct. 3rd. I called my family dr. he said he would fit me in this afternoon after he saw his other scheduled patients. This has been going on for 2 wks and I am desparate the pain is unbelivable . Should I ask my dr. for pain meds stronger than vicodin to get me through this flare.

sorry your fflaring, it couldn't hurt to ask, I would first ask if you can take them every 4 hours.. Did you try to sit in a warm tub, or curl up with your heating pad.. some people like ice better.. Your uro's office should have your results, and even if he is out of office there has to be somebody to fill in for him....

I'm sorry you're having a hard time again! You just can't seem to get a break!!! It wouldn't hurt to ask for something stronger, or you can try them every 4 hours like Brat said. Just make sure it's ok with the doctor first so you don't run out of meds early.

Didnt you say you took phenergan for nausea? Phenergan works with narcotics and "potentiates the effect of the narcotic", which basically means the phenergan can help the pain pill work better.

We used to give it all the time when we gave injections, 25 mg of phenergan....don't know what you've been taking, so be sure and ask the doctor if it's ok first, ok?

Just dont want to see you in any more pain --- you deserve a major break!

I am not on phenegran anymore I am on reglan now for naseua and vomiting I ended up having delayed stomach emtying as well . I called asked about my urine test results they said they are running a culture senstivity on my urine I won't hear anything till Monday . I so hope my fp will help me this afternoon.

I hope they can help you too. I used to take Reglan and Phenergan, not at the same time, but within the same day. I would ask your doc, it doesnt hurt to ask them...at this point anything to help with the pain!

I'm sorry you are hurting so much. I hope you feel better very soon. A hot water bottle is a good thing to have when you are hurting.

I hope your doctor can help you. I wouldn't mess with your dosage of pain medication until you talk to him/her, though. Anyway, I hope you catch a break soon...you have had more than your fair share lately!

Hi jess I ended up going to the er I am not in a flare I have an uti and a bad kidney infection I am on cipro for 2 wks have to call my fp on Monday and boy they are going to hear it from me I am so mad at them right now. If I get worse over the weekend I have to be admitted. :cussing: I am suppose to be on bed rest.
