Besides being uncomfortable before I pee, sometimes it hurts afterwards for awhile as well. Usually I get relief when I pee.
Anyone else experience this?

I'm one of the few who actually feels better with a full bladder...I get the most pain, spasms, and the strong urge to pee right after I urinate. My bladder feels better when it starts filling up.

Any more if I am going to have discomfort or spasms, it seems to be right after I pee. And I have noticed to go when I really have to go. If I make a trip to the potty "just because I think I might need to go" they are worse afterwards, ugh!

If my urine is too concentrated, then I have burning afterwards.
Often after I urinate, I get a severe urge to go again almost immediately. I also get bladder spasms alot (usually right after peeing).
Is the pain bladder, urethra, pelvic? Is it pain, burning, spasm? Try to figure these issues out so you can tell your Dr about it next visit.

I suffer from pain before, during and after. It feels like somebody is taking a razor sharp object to me. I am prone to fainting when the pain is very high.

I also suffer from pain before and after, usually for about 10-15 minutes.
Burning and just a strange feeling like I still have to go right after I have urinated are usually my signals that I'm flaring.

Thank you everyone. It is so good to have you here on the board. I know you understand and I got feedback that I am not alone with this. Trytosmile, please get yourself to a pain center. You should never have to faint with this. I am so sorry for your suffering and that of all here.
Gentle hugs,

I've been to a pain clinic, nothing helped. I have a very low tolerance to medications, seem to get 90% of side effects. So it makes it hard to find a good balance between the good and the bad. Meds have to take in very low dosages therefore making the it much less effective. Pain pills, not an option. Been there done that..what a trip.
I'm just one of those people and have always been this way. I was in a serious car accident in 1987 and couldn't take medications in "normal" amounts then either. I guess I have developed a tolerance for pain and have myself prepared for what may come my way.

I can't hold my bladder. I had surgery to correct it, but it didn't help. I burn before during and after.
I can't take any of the meds for my IC. With Elmiron I tried taking it 3 times, finally my specialist said stop taking it. I had severe headaches, dizziness and was nauseated.

I only get that feeling after I cath all my urine out, but before I was diagnosed I had a lot of burning and pain after peeing. Elmiron has worked miracles with that, though :)
