Ok for those who have been there...what is the best kind of crib to buy? I am leaning towards the StorkCraft Deborah Stages Model from Wal-Mart.com
Has anyone had any experience with StorkCraft? And what is your opinion on the best, sturdy crib? Thanks...

My youngest is now 9, but I had a Jenny Lynn Crib with him and my daughter. I found they last a good long time.
Getting excited yet about buying baby things. I can remember that like it was yesterday!!! All the little clothes and they way baby things smell...
Well thats what I used a long time ago, so might not help with todays baby. I also see where alot of cribs can be made in to a toddler bed then a full size bed for later use. Dont know how well those do... :grouphug:

Jess my first 2 kids had a Jenny Lind and it held up wonderful. I bought a Delta 5 in 1 for Colten and seem to love it just as much. Good Luck, such hard choices to make.

Thanks Patricia and Leslie! There are SOOOO many cribs out there, it is absolutely crazy. I'd have to order mine online, because we don't have baby stores or anything in the area, and our Wal-Mart is tiny...so that's why I was wondering if I could get some reviews. I'll look for those 2 names on the 'net though. Thanks!

Lindsey's crib was a family crib(of course compulsive me checked it to make sure it met safety guidlines. One tip I do have, get one of those pack and go play pen things with the bassinet piece that goes on top. Wonderful for traveling, and even mobile in the house.

I like ChildCraft Cribs. They are very sturdy and hold up to lots and lots of bouncing! The most important thing, though is to make sure that the matress fits the crib and that the matress is very firm - you don't want a soft mattress since it increases the chance of suffocation. Since you can't go out and try things for yourself, you might want to make sure that the dimensions of the bottom of the crib are the same as the dimensions of the mattress. You would think that would be a given, but it's not. I'm so happy for you!!! I loved this part of things - picking out all of the stuff!! Have you tried babiesrus.com? Or, babydepot.com ? Babiesrus is really good about keeping up with recalled items and they are also wonderful about returns. I had a stroller that I used for a month and took it back b/c it was so heavy I could barely get it in the car (it was a triplet stoller). They didn't bat an eye and returned my money. Of course, I bought another stroller while I was there, but they are wonderful about things like that. I'm usually not a big "returner" but when it comes to baby stuff, if it didn't seem safe or if I had a problem with it, I didn't keep it. Anyway, Babiesrus is a wonderful store and a great online site. I'm so happy for you!!!! Oh, I'm getting baby-fever...wait a minute...you have to have sex to have babies...oh well... :dizzy:

Ohhhmygosh you girls are making my head spin LOL! Elle I'll try those places...I am so glad I have 6 more months to plan. We're finding the sex out on my birthday late next month, so that will be easier. But this crib business and play pens and bassinets...I feel loco! Thanks!

Wow........there are tons to choose from now-a-days. We have a babys r us superstore so I just went there and picked it out. The good thing is they have so many models already on display that you can go by, shake it, roll it or whatever to check sturdiness.
Jess, you are out in the sticks, huh? ;)
O.k so it was like the aspen crib but we had drawers under it and I chose white. We bought the changing table from jcpenney.com cause later you can buy a shelf that turns the whole thing into a bookcase. Go to www.babiesrus.com they will have many to select from too. As well as all kinds of goodies!
Happy shopping!

Hey Jess,
Do you need a shopping buddy? This was one of my favorite times as well. Besides, retail therapy cures all.

Mine to Barb, I bought everything, even things I knew I wouldn't use. It was just so fun to do it again, especially when you thought you were done and the excitement took over when I got to see the look in hubby's eye (it was his first) as we tore up the mall and babies r us to find just the right things. I spent $1200 in one day on little junkie things and clothes...............I am ready to baby shop Jess, lets go. I have stow and go seating we can hide alot of crap in there :biglaugh:

Ok let's go! I LOVE looking at all the baby stuff, and just can't WAIT to find out the gender so I can start coordinating! Hubby and I took a walk through the baby section at Wal-Mart this evening and I had to restrain myself from buying all the cute, fluffy, soft things. Somebody take my checkbook!

I think we need to have a "Cyber Baby Shower" for all the new and soon-to-be mommies! We could all have fun checking out all the baby goodies online and then post the link for our favorite item we would like to give to the new little ones. Of course, we'll serve delightful refreshments at the shower. How about a triple chocolate cake? Or maybe strawberry shortcake? Oh, what the heck, it's cyber.....we'll have both! ;) Shhhhh...don't tell the mommies. It's a surprise party!

Maybe all those who have registered at different stores can post the info and we can send gifts as we wish to them???????????
Jess you gotta have a little girl, shopping for boys is so boring. Not much you can do with Jeans tshirts and tennis shoes :biglaugh: Toy shopping isn't much more exciting there either.
