Dear Friends,
I have been nervous to post this because I don't want to jinx it, but I think I am in remission! For the last 4 weeks I have been eating taboo foods, including: nectarines, a little ketchup, bbq sauce, salad dressing w/vinegar, mexican food, even wine! I have had little or no symptoms (occasional increased frequency, but NO pain) in the last month. I can hardly believe it! I keep trying stuff, and anxiously waiting for the pain to start, and it just doesn't. I haven't yet tried the biggies (tomato, citrus fruit) and I think am just feeling superstitious about them because they're really no more acidic than wine or some of the other things I've been trying.

I wanted to share with you exactly what I've been taking, in case others want to try the same approach:
Detrol LA 1x in am
Prelief before bfast and dinner
Hydroxyzine at bedtime
Flaxseed oil (mostly for dry eyes caused by the other meds)
IC Blend 3 capsules 2x/day (this is a naturopathic blend available from Bastyr University in Seattle--it contains much of the same stuff as the blends available here on line--specifically it has:
Vitamin A
L-Argenine
Quercitin
N-acetyl glucosamine
Corn sil
Oregon grape root
I have no idea which of these might be healing my bladder, since I have been taking pretty much all of them for the last four months. I also diligently stuck w/the diet for the first 3 months, and that may have helped as well.

I have no idea how long this will last but I am going to enjoy every minute of happy taste buds and not having to run to the bathroom every 10 minutes. I want to thank all of you who I've talked to here for your support, knowledge, patience, and perserverence. I hope that many of you reading this will or have already achieved some kind of relief as well. Take care--
Sydney

:woohoo: Syndney!

I had 3 wks relatively pain-free till I got my period on Friday :( - but I hope as soon as it is over I can have more pain-free days like yourself. I too take Prelief and Pyridium - not sure which is working but it's nice to feel "normal" again.

May your pain-free days continue! Nice to hear a positive posting!

Please be very cautious about potential trigger foods. It's just not worth it if they might cause a flare for you.

I'm so glad you're feeling better and appreciate your sharing your good news.

I'm so glad you are feeling great.....you're doing it right by slowly adding no-no foods in one at a time. I sure hope it lasts for ya! ;)
