Has anyone flown since 9/11 with their meds, needles and pain meds? I am heading to NYC next Saturday and I would rather not run into any delays.
Thanks!!!!

Just to be on the safe side, I carried my meds in their prescription containers. I suggest you check with thje airline if you need to take needles and syringes with you. I don't know what the regulations are there.

I have traveled to Mexico and across the US with no problems. I take all my supplies including the needles and syringes and vials of sterile water, marcaine, and sodium barc. If you travel outside the US , you need to have your prescriptions with your supplies and instill medications.

I didn't have any trouble. I just sent in checked luggage. If you think about it diabetics travel with needles all the time. For my TENS and SANS unit though, I printed the instructions off the site and tucked them in the case so anyone can clearly see what it's for.

This is a great question!
I'd be worried about the airline losing my checked luggage, so I always carry meds in my carry-on bag, but have never needed to carry syringes before.
I would hope a doctor's letter would work, if needed?

I have never attempted to carry any of my supplies in carry on bags. I would think even with a doctors letter, the needles would need to be in checked baggage .

Wow, scary & frustrating, considering how many times my luggage has been lost & I've gotten it days later...

This question bugged me a lot, so I went looking online for an answer.
This is what I found.
http://www.faa.gov/apa/pr/pr.cfm?id=1435

A diabetic friend who travels with syringes & insulin tells me she has had no trouble going through checkpoints.

I figure if I go somewhere & want to take supplies with me, I'll take new syringes, caths in package & meds with prescription labels to try to expedite things. I'd definitely try to carry it on, since my luggage has so frequently gotten lost.

This is probably worth double checking into before flying, but thought it might put some worriers' (like me) minds at ease:)

My meds all have preservatives or are single use only, so I don't refrig them. I do refrigerate the sterile water, though.

I am an insulin dependent diabetic. I always carry a doctor's note saying so when I fly.
Yes, all airlines have different policies. Call ahead of time.
