hi

im new to this forum, i guess because i didnt want to admit to myself that i have a problem but it seems i do and it also seems it wont go away. My worst symptoms are frequency and leaking, leaking being the bain of my life.
i was diagnosed 4 years ago now when I was 24 and I have tried everything....diet, oral medication, cystistat, DMSO, pelvic floor excercises, physio and most recently, 3 weeks ago I had surgery to put in Zuidex.
It hasn't worked and I'm devastated. I thought for sure it would and that I would be able to live life without worrying about leaking anymore.
Also, since having the implants I have noticed that I dont feel the urge but then all of a sudden it comes on and I can barely keep the wee in. This happens ,moreso when I am sat down and then I stand up. I get a sharp pain in my bladder and need to go straight away. I almost havent made it once or twice. This never happened before. I'd get the urge and would be able to wait a little while, now I can hardley wait at all. I don't think this should be happening.

Can anyone offer any advice or has this happened to anyone else?

PS - Apologies if you've read and replied to this message on another site, and thanks to Kathy for recommending this site to me, you've helped a lot but I need more advice and hope people here can help me.

I'm very glad you found us.

I am not familiar with zuidex, but I did do a brief search to learn a bit about it. I did find one article that said in their studies, they found that it takes about eight weeks before full results are known. The same article reported that about 44% of the patients had to have the procedure repeated before it became effective.

Hopefully some who have experience or knowledge about zuidex will respond.

hey there donna!

thanks for that, I wasn't aware of those statistics. I was told by my surgeon that it would be instantanious so you can imagine my dissapointment.
At least with those facts I may still have a few weeks where it could turn itself around, OR I could have it again and it may work. All hope is not lost afterall!

Still like to hear from anyone else who has had it. Whether it has worked or not

:woohoo:
