I have the constant feeling of having to pee now (always)

Have you been diagnosed with IC?

It really depends on your own situation how much pain you will have, or how much it burns, etc. Everyone is different and depending on how severe the IC is, how bad the ulcers are, etc, the pain might be different. We even have differnt types of pain, some have spasms, some have urethral pain, some have both.

Let us know a little more about you and your own symptoms, etc and we might be able to help you out a little better.

Well, hopefully now that you are being treated, you will experience none, lol. Before I was diagnosed is when mine got worse, to the point of the actual bladder pain. But, after starting the diet and being on the meds for some time, that has not returned. Again, this is just my experience. And I wouldn't even dwell on it if I were you, ;), the mind is a powerful thing! Nothing is written in stone, I believe that if I had gone to the doctor sooner, I wouldn't have gotten to the bladder pain stage.

So, don't "expect" it, ok? I believe that sometimes that can "jinx" you for lack of a better term. ;) Just assume this is as bad as it's going to get. I know it may sound "silly" but I believe that if you keep the positive attitude instead of living every day waiting for the "worst" or "the other shoe to drop", you will be doing yourself and your bladder a great service!!! :)

Hugs!!!

Tracey is right. Once you have a firm diagnosis and find the treatment options work best and which foods and drinks are a problem for you, it's very likely that you will feel better. My IC was diagnosed in 1975 and my IC is about the same as it was then --- possibly even better because I have found effective treatment and avoid my food triggers.
