Anyone recommend an IC specialist in Sydney

Hi All,

Can anyone recommend a urologist in Sydney with experience with IC patients. Have a urologist who says my cystoscopy looks like IC with haemorraghes on the bladder wall but cannot give me a diagnosis because I don't have pain on bladder filling.

Would really appreciate if anyone knows of a good uro.

Hi George,

I can recommend a urologist for you. He diagnosed my IC. I first saw him in September 2001 and was diagnosed in Dec 2001. If I remember correctly you are in the inner ciy, he is located in Newtown.

hi george, i live in brisbane so i can't recommend a uro for sydney, i have a appointment for the 16th of september, for a cysto/hydro, this is all very new to me, i have a lot of pain in my bladder, right hip and thigh, i also don't feel pain when my bladder fills,so i wonder what my uro is going to find, it's confusing, i do notice my pain increase with certain drinks and food. by the way have you ever tried ural? it is suppose to be for uti's, but i have tried some, and i think it irritated me? it's got citric acid in it, so that probleby why, the uro said that after i have my cysto/hydro done, i may develop an uti, which is pretty common, so i thought i could try ural, but obviously that's out, and cranberry juice is out too, anyway i hope you will find a uro who will give you a diagnosis one way or another, take care martha :)

Hi Martha,

I have tried Ural before and it's not caused me any problem as I don't get pain I only have terrible urinary frequency. As it happens the nurses gave me ural in the recovery room after my cystoscopy last week. Good luck to you.
