I have tried it and it didn't work for me. No bad side effects, just didn't work.

Tried it, but have not liked the effects. I'm back on Ditropan XL. I would rather have dry mouth than the side effects. My bowels have been off ever since I started 2 weeks ago. I think 2 weeks was enough to give it to work. I have been feeling real good, but the last few days have not been good. Tonight I was in pain, which has not been the case for at least the last 3 weeks or more. I've been on my feet a lot the last week, as school just started and I've been doing cafeteria duty so that the teachers can have a few minutes to themselves.
Vesicare has not given me the same relief as Ditropan did. I also have samples of enbalex which I havent tried yet.

I have tried it and it didn't work for me either. None of this line of drugs has. I am slowly working my way through the pharmacy.

Three months age,my specialist took me off Detrusitol (Tolterodine L-Tartrate) which was helping despite the awful parched throat. He put me on Vesicare, which is doing absolutely nothing - like Babs, it's not even given me any side effects. :toilet:

Tried for less than a month, nothing. Back on Ditropan and much better :)

I also tried vesicare. My doctor gave me samples for 2 months. Maybe a little less frequency, but not much. I didn't think it was worth the money to spend 25 a month on the prescription, so I quit taking it. None of the other similar medications worked for me either. But the only side effect I noticed was dry mouth.

Have you tried hyoscyamine? or urispas? It sounds like you are having some awful spasms and those two older medications have worked better for me than the new stuff. I haven't tried vesicare, however.

I recently started on Enablex 7.5 mg and found out that I actually needed about 1 pill in AM and 1/2 in PM. It really stopped the terrible, constant pee pressure that I had. I also have a back up Rx for Detrol, but so far havent tried it. On Enablex my already dry eyes are not any dryer, I do not have constipation, and seem to have a better stream and more of it when I go.
I have heard from quite a few others that Vessicare didnt work for them.
Enablex and Vessicare act on the bladder primarily where the older meds like Detrol act systemically. I even saw a study using Ditropan/Detrol that said it affected some cognitive proceses in older adults. So, if you all are forgetting things or grouping for words it could be a side effect along with the dry mouth on the older meds. The newer ones Vessicare and Enablex in studies did not show cognitive effects.

My dr just gave me samples of VesiCare and wants me to switch to it for a while from Detrol LA 2mg. I haven't tried it yet as I just started a different medication and I don't want to change too many variables at once (I'm a scientist). It said the most common side effect with VesiCare is blurred vision. Has that happened to anyone? I have tried Ditropan and a different one- can't remember name- and had bad problems with dry mouth and constipation. My dr insists that my pain is caused from bladder spasms. I think its the opposite and frequent urination is from being in pain so much. Anyone considered their link?
