Hi All,

I was dx this week and am in a state of shock & depression. Have a garden FULL of fresh tomatoes that I planted from seed - - everything I eat is tomato based, has lemon in it or is on the Off Limits list. Does anyone know why they say "home grown" tomatoes are ok (on ichelp.com's list)? Or am I in denial?

Am almost 44 and my window for getting pregnant is closing. Uro says I should do it ASAP, but can't imagine what that'll look like w/CI.

Does anyone every cure themselves w/Chinese Herbs?

Are those instillations worth it?

This is torture. I'm a red wine lover and know I'm whining, but have nobody to confer with. Just when I thought I was on a healthy lifestyle groove, THIS comes along. Does it EVER go away??

Please share!

home grown tomotos has less acid in them because they get natural sunlight. However a lot of icer still can't handle them.
I grew the Ox heart tomotos and my dad grew some type of yellow tomato very low in acid I can eat one from time to time but don't do it on a daily basis.
we also had our soil tested. soil makes a big diff. on how much acid your tomatos will have.

it was hard for me at first with the IC diet. I was in deinal. I just didn't want to believe i had this disease I went on ate what i wanted but i suffered even with prelief.
i understand its hard but well wroth it when your systoms get under control.
if you haven't already found this site please check it out it has a lot of great information on treatments the diet and so forth on it.
www.ic-network.com/handbook.
it may take a while but please know there is remission once you find the right meds.
b.t.w welcome to the ICN family. Please know your never alone and we will always be here for you. WE DO CARE and most Importantly UNDERSTAND!
sending you hugs and prayers

I'm glad you found this site. I know you're feeling like it's the end of the world, but most of us do find treatment options that help us feel good.

I know there are some folks out there who feel they have been helped by Chinese herbal treatments. When I was first diagnosed all somebody had to do was say the word "cure" to me and I was ready to swallow anything. I have to admit now that the only thing that did was to help keep my wallet empty! I do much better working with medical professionals.

An important thing to remember is that for every individual posting here because they are in pain, there are literally hundreds out there who are not posting because they feel good and don't need the support of the boards.

Sending well wishes,
Donna

P.S. I can't eat tomatoes of any kind.
