Hello to everyone! I was actually diagnosed accidentally several years ago during a hysterectomy. My Gyn noticed pinpoint hemmorhages in my bladder when he instilled fluid into it causing it to expand. I haven't had any major symptoms but have recently noticed sharp stabbing pains in my bladder area several times a day. I have always been a frequent voider, but this is more noticeable now too. I'm really worried that my symptoms will worsen, so I have made an appointment with a urologist for next week. Any advice or support would be appreciated.
Glad you found us! :welcome: If you haven't already, we always suggest you check out the ICN's online Patient Handbook at this link: www.ic-network/handbook You might pay special attention to the information regarding diet. It is one of the cheapest, simplest ways to ease IC symptoms - although it is not easy. It's hard giving up some of our favorite foods.
I'm glad you were able to get into a urologist. Are you on any form of treatment now?

I am so sorry that you have to come to this site at all. But welcome. You can try doing the diet. My uro suggested I double my fluid intake. He said that urine is naturally very acidic and if you double your fluid intake it makes it more diluted so less irritating to the bladder. I have to go to the bathroom more, but it usually hurts less. The only time I try not to drink water is the hour-hour and a half before bed. Praying I don't have to get up to much. Good luck, and I hope you feel better soon.

Hi I'm new here. I wanted to find a place where i can talk to other people regarding Kidney Stones and UTI. I went to the hospital by 911 yesterday. No one was home but me. I have had some pain in my back, stomach, and on my left side. Pain that I have never experienced and that never went away. I have my period and thought it was that. But boy was I wrong . Last week I went to the dr and they told me that I had a UTI (urinary tract infection). Those suck. You always feel like you have to pee but then nothing comes out. That is why I was so sick last week. But the cramping that I’m getting is from a Kidney Stone. That’s right. I have a small kidney stone. They took a CAT scan and that showed what I have. They told me to drink lots of liquids….expecially water so it will pass. I hope it just plops right out….but I heard that you’ve got to push it out and the pain is worse then being in labor. Great. I’m on pain meds and they gave me Morphine yesterday.
