My doctor gave me a prescription for an Amitriptyline, about 2 weeks ago, and I haven’t taken one yet.
I've been on antidepressants before so I'm terrified to go on them again because the physical pain (nausea, heartburn, headaches) and mental pain (depression, apathy) is not worth relieving my severe IC pain; I'll stick to Demerol, at least that wears off after a few hours

*NOTE: I'm not saying that it won't work for some people but I just have too many bad experiences with these types of drugs*

Christine, amitriptyline given in tiny doses can help a great deal with pain. My husband takes only 10 mg and gets relief from arthritis pain. I can't take it, but wish I could.
