This is the worst YI that I have EVER had. I was in the middle of dinner when the irritation becamse so strong that I literally turned everything off, ruining it, and had to go to the store to get some Monistat 3. I used the external itching creme and its STILL driving me nuts, and I used the supositories right now, even though you are supposed to wait until bed time.
Grrrr......I HATE THESE. Why couldnt we have been born me?? :bonk:

Many ICers can not handle mediations such as Monistat very well. Sure hope you feel better soon.

It's not so much the itch that gets me but the pelvic inflamation and pain!
I can't do the creams either as I react to whatever is in them and it just makes the pain worse! Add a chemical burn on top of the IC pain. Boy is it torture.
I use Nystatin Tabs and then lots of probiotics!]
Good luck...hope you feel better by now!

Geeez, IC is enough to deal with than we have to add on UTI's, bladder & yeast infections. Can't wait for that ( NOT )
I don't know if you can try the Diflucan, I used to always get YI ( b4 i knew about IC ) and the diflucan worked the best for me.
It is a pill, so ask your doc if that is something that might be ok for you.
Hope you feel better soon,
Tracey :)

Diflucan did NOT get rid of the yeast infection for me. I took 3 100mg doses in one week. I just took another dose on tuesday when I started my nystatin vag tabs and it did a number on me with side effects. the dr wants me to tkake it once a week for 3 months as a prevention. NOt usre I'll be able to handle the side effects...... I hope I get it under control as it is a problem for me!

Mel,
I have almost the same exact diseases and problems as you do. Vuvladynia, Ibs, Nerve damage, migraines, abdominal pain, ic etc. I noticed you get monthly iv antibiotics. I think they will start doing that for me, I have a low IgG level... does it seem to help? I still get infections all the time, Im in a constant flare and I'm only 20. THIS BLOWS. does anyone have problems with itching, esp vaginal? I swear I've tried everything for it! any suggestions?!?!

MSMOUSe pretty uch everything you named as a problem is common in ICers....We have a Vulvadynia and IBS board. IF you need help with those conditions I sugest posting at the boards.
What are you doing currently for yeast infections?
YEAST LIST: Boric Acid, Aci-gel (insert it at night, it maintains the ph of the vagina & yeast can't live when there's an acidic environment - or can use apple cider vinegar in water TAKE CAUSION IF YOUR URETHRA IS SENSITIVE!!!!!!!!!!) and also washing externally with tea-tree oil diluted in water. \acidopholous tablets, a wet towel with s AZO yeast, http://www.ghtbiz.net/rescue/nocandida/lead.html, Any probotics, Flora-Q The Flora-Q is made by Kenwood Therapeutics. It contains Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium, Lactobacillus paracasel, and Streptococcus thermophilus -- these are all bacteria that normally live inside your digestive tract. What you do is take a capsule a day for a few days during antibiotic treatment and then a couple afterwards, and this replaces your normal flora, making it much less likely to to get yeast infections. http://www.ic-network.com/iclifestyles/july01.html list of ideas (Nystatin, Diflucan by prescription.
I noticed you said itching ...esp vaginal? now if you have a problem with being itchy elsewhere make sure your not allergic to any med or soething your eating or washing with. Beyond that some meds can really make us dry....Eliron is pretty good at that as are many others. Maybe lotion could help.
What do you do not for your infections?
I sure hope you feel better soon. :grouphug:
