cannot get it under control today

hi, i've got my period today, and no matter how many painkillers i take the pain does not want to go away :mad: the funny thing is that my period pain seems to feel the same as my bladderpain i have every day,exept maybe a little more lower backpain, do any of you have that same feeling too? thanks martha :hmm:

For a while now i always felt as if i had a bladder infection coming on like a week before my period, then when my period came i had horrible cramps and horrible back pain and heavy bleeding. Still not diagnosed with ic but thinking i have it. :)

I always had lower back pain with my periods. I had a hysterectomy in 1999 and still have flare up around the time I would get my period. I have you tried using a heating pad? That helps sometimes. I hope your flare up doesnt last to long..

I to had bad back pain and bladder pain with periods. I had hysterectomy march of 05.
Hope your pain eases some.

hi thanks for your replies, the pain is still there but the painkillers seem to have a little more effect this morning, i just told my husband last night that i cannot believe of how much this illness has changed my life, i use to be out in the garden nearly every day, and loved doing my crafts, but now i am so consumed by this pain, it's taken over my life and i want it back, sorry guys, i'm just feeling a bit depressed,(i'll get over it) take care martha

I too hurt real bad during my period.... try the heating pad, and as much as you don't want to take a bath during your period, the hot water may find you some relief...

thanks for your reply brat, i only wish i have a bathtub, no such luck, we only have a shower, but i do use my heat bag a lot, and that helps.take care martha
