Yikes!!!! I wrote several temp. nursing agencies yesterday hoping they would possibly hire me 1 day a week or so. Well, I wrote a very nice cover letter, didnt even send in my resume, and they all called me back this morning. I was sound asleep when the phone kept ringing, and I saw BAYADA nurses on the caller ID, and flipped out....I have their return numbers and plan on calling them back before the afternoon is over, and I can stop shaking, get my head together, and speak like a professional.
I'm just near panic! I really am. I havent worked since 2001...I must have done something right somehow in my letter for all of them to call me though.
Wish me luck! Gonna call them all within the next hour or so.....
Sandy
Sandy, I hope it goes well for you. Nurses are always needed.

Thank's y'all. I'm still sitting here twiddling my thumbs trying to get the nerve up to call. I can't quit running to the bathroom to pee either---like every 4-5 minutes for the last couple hours. It has to be anxiety making me do this. Years ago, I would not have had this problem, would have been confident and answered the phone right then and there...........
Good luck!!!!! You pull that confidence right back up and be the strong, well spoken woman you are, OK? :kissing:

Strong, and well spoken.....that is an amazing compliment, thank you! Well, I have an INTERVIEW!!! Next Friday, so the kids will be in school, outta my hair, and I have time to revise my resume, get doctor's notes saying I'm not impaired by the meds I take, and that I am able to work.
The lady asked me if I have ventilator experience because I would be working with neonates, and toddlers, for home care, who are very sick.
I've never done home care, but it seems a great option...besides the money, the RN's I know who do this really love the freedom the job gives them, and they really get to know their patients.
They have a huge extended training program, so you learn their equipment and get to rely upon yourself, and get used to not having respiratory therapists, etc there to help out in a crisis.
OMG My heart is in my chest...but I'm so excited.
Got a couple more places to call but I HAVE AN INTERVIEW!! :woohoo:

Sounds good to me --- you should also have good bathroom access, which you absolutely must have.

Thanks!! Now, anyone wanna help me with my resume? HA! I can not find a copy of it, so I'm going to have to wing it.....from 1992 til present!
I called back the other two agencies that called me, one was extremely rude, and said that they required full time work for the last 12 months.....so blah.
The other hasn't called me back yet. But this Bayada opportunity looks very good.
I've looked in my closet for "interview" clothes..found the perfect skirt and blouse, shoes, hose..you'd think it was tomorrow...
I'm scared, happy, excited, nervous, etc......

Right Donna, my thoughts exactly. Home care will definately allow me to use the restroom! It's so perfect!

Sandy,
I have a resume program on my computer that is awesome, you type in the info and it puts everything in its proper place. Proper spacing, format--has saved these briches more than once. I also got a letter from my primary physician and/or uro that stated I was able to meet the requirements for the job and that meds didn't impair my ability to function at work.

Actually I can Sandy! :)
I did one for my dad a few years ago.
So let me know....Barb's program sounds like a breeze.
When I went to do my father's, I just googled resume. It took me to many different sites that wanted to do it for you for like $50.00....but I researched on til I found a site that gave me ideas and voila!
I hope it works out for you!!:)

I actually found a site that will walk you through the resume step by step, format it, punctuation, etc. It's a free trial, and you get one resume. I can log in and out and save the file...which is a good thing because I'm struggling with dates, and names of hospitals from quite a while ago.
Thank you all so much for the support!
Sandy-you sound like a kid on the first day of school!! I think it is awesome!!! Good luck and keep up the post so we can keep on smiling at your good fortune!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:
