Elmiron and Cystoprotek - Repost

I have been on Elmiron for 9 months now and recently ordered Cystoprotek. I know that many of you take both but was wondering what dosage you started with when taking the Elmiron as well? I know it says six a day but was wondering if that's too high for those of us taking both. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Also are there any side effects with this medication. I wondered about the stomach upset so I have put it in the freezer as this is suppose to help. Is it better taken with food or can you take it at the same time as the Elmiron?

This is something you need to discuss with your Dr. Your Dr. needs to know everything you are taking so you don't get too much or little of something. Also some of these supplements could cause a reaction and your Dr. needs to work with you on this.

Jolene is right --- you really need to talk with your doctor before combining meds.

Ask the Protek people what to do, but
I think if you are taking elmeron, you take less Protek.
Start out slow with anything new.
My stomach is sensitive too and the protek is ok with me.
you can take it with food,
It is helping me and i take 4 per day with my meals.

In the info pack that Cystoprotek sent me with my sample it says that if you are taking Elmiron to take 4 caps a day. All other people take the 6 cap dosage. It says distinctly that it is safe to take with Elmiron on the website as well.

I am just taking the Cystoprotek (no Elmiron) and just finished my first month. I believe that I am doing quite a bit better since I started it, but like all things, will wait longer before I make a final decision. So far so good! PS, I never got any stomach pset from it, and I usually get very nauseous from most pills.
