:loco: hello members,

Got a question. Went to uro yesterday and he told me to go to yoga exercises but scheduled me for cystoscopy sept 15, but he did not come out and say i have pfd. My neighbor mentioned it to me and i checked it out on the net last nite, and low and behold the symptoms are mine to a T. I have the urgency, sex hurts while having intercourse and the next day, discomfort while having an exam when bladder is pressed, and I definetly have that. Blood in urine and no bacteria, never. Lower back pain and vaginal pain and pelvic pain and it hurts in the pubic hair area, right hip and leg hurts, leakage when cough, sneeze or even laugh, anitiotics don't work, sensitive to certain foods, and another thing for pfd is that they say alot of straining when trying to have bowel movement most of the time with no results and that definetly me. I get severe cramping and most of the time I can't have a bowel movement not for lack of trying and somtimes if I can't i get nauseated to my stomach and the cramps are unbearable, and it makes my lower back ache and it feels like my intestines are in a big knot. Now what i am wondering are these also symptoms of ic and if u have pfd do you most of the time end up with ic, and is there really any cure for pfd, and what if you live so far away from a therapy centre and gas is out of this world and u just can't afford all that gas on welfare or social services. I just want to know if the two are inter-related.

Thanks
joanne :hmm:

usially they dx pfd with a test called bio feed back.. and to answer your question. yes... pfd goes with ic, also the following, fibromyalgia, allergies, myofascial pain syndrom, and there are a few more flamatory diseases that come with it.. It don't mean you'll get them but, they can run hand in hand..

Yes, PFD can be part of IC and it can be a diagnosis by itself without IC, or it can be coupled with various forms of Vulvadynia. You can have some, one or all by themselves or with IC.
Tigger-great info on the stretches. I just bought myself an exercise ball and boy does that work your deep abdominals but supports the back.

I certainly has for me. In fact my PFD symptoms are worse than my IC symptoms. But it took me awhile to find a Doctor who understood that there are different types of PFD. I have the kind that causes pelvic pain, vaginal pain, dificulties voiding without straining, little to NO incontinence (which means Kegals make me worse). I just haven't found a good PFD specialist yet!

Sorry, did you say you do have blood in your urine or you don't?
