what can you use for external urethra burning?

either home remedy or medication? I know people take tablets but is there a gel or something that you can apply?

One thing you could do is to use a spray bottle with plain water to rinse off the area.

You know what I been doing lately for external burning, is put aloe vera right on it. It seems to help me quite a lot.

I do the spray bottle with regular cold water. Made a huge difference for me. I have also Urimax, that seems to help

Bianchi, is that the gel? I was a bit afraid to do that because of the chemicals etc. I will try it though or perhaps from a fresh aloe vera plant.

I use OTC cortisone cream. Not for long term use, but for a couple of days. Usually burning uretha is something we've ingested :hmm: Hugs, Kathi

sweetangel, yes it's the gel. I get it at the health food store, it is pure aloe vera. So far it has helped and I have had no problem with any side effects. But everyone is different, so maybe try just a little?

I drink almond milk three times/day. I take a Cipro every 3 days. I make sure no goop of any sort touches my urethra like no lubricants, meds., creams, etc. including natural remedies (in my case anyway, I can't handle them.) When I use the internal estrogen, as soon as it starts to melt I have to use a squirt bottle every time I void to keep it off the urethra. We use Crisco shortening as a lubricant on him, not me and that took care of mine. Good luck.

I used aloe from an aloe plant in the past. Also used cold plain yogurt. Both worked pretty well, but luckily my burning went away (knock on wood) after pelvic floor therapy. Now I just have this dumb frequency to work on......

Some things that work for me:

OTC hydrocortizone cream....a TINY tiny bit..........and not every night.........

A warm (not hot) bath with a cup of Epsom salts in it......

Anti-yeast cream.....again a TINY bit......I use a generic Clotrimazole, for some reason the monistat type creams make it worse for me.....

Sometimes pyridium works for me.............but when I take it more than three days it can be irritating to the external tissues......

hang in there..........it is a miserable feeling...........XOXO
