:headbang: Starting September 1, 2005 Missouri Medacaid is changing their guidelines! I have had IC for over 2 years now. I had to quit working in June 2003. After that most of the last 2 years has been spent "jumping through hoops" for my long term disibility insurance and social security disability. I was finally approved for SSD a few months ago. When I started receiving SSD my long term disibility insurance REDUCED my benefits by what I receive from SSD. OK, I dealt with that I live alone and I receive $980.00 a month. I have had medicaid for almost 2 years now. I have severe pain, nausea vomitting, and several other symptoms. Sometimes I am even unable to care for myself. My prescriptions cost around $3000.00 a month. My caseworker at family services said that the new rules allow me to make $678.00 a month. Anything OVER that I would have to pay to the state to keep my medicaid!!! The new guidelines are due to something that Govenor Matt Blunt approved.... I am sure he does not have any disabled family members or friends ---- $678.00 a month ???? ----- My God that has to be well below Poverty level!!! How are we suppose to live? I cant pay rent, utilities, food ect. I have learned to live with a lot of pain and other symptoms, and my doctors have helped me. But without my medicines I am so scared to go back to where I started from ... crying and curling up in a ball and unable to function! I have always thought of myself as being a strong person. I have made it through a lot of rough times. But now I am so angry!!! Not just for me but for all disabled people in the state! I have a girlfriend who is loosing her fight with breast cancer and she is loosing her medicaid too!!!
