Does anyone know if a mucousy, stringy like dicharge from your bladder is a symptom? I've been dx with IC for about 3 yrs and this is a new one for me. I've had the urine ck'ed by my uro and then by the ob/gyn on a routine visit and both times it came back normal so neither knew what to say really. I've been exp this pretty much since I gave birth to my son 4 mos ago.
I see it everytime I go to the bathroom and its noticable, I dont have to get right in there to see it. Sorry, TMI i know but it's really freaking me out.

Anyone?

Erin

BTW--for anyone who saw my last post, I stopped the Elmiron cream because it was causing a yeast infection from all that cream in there constantly. So much for that, I had such high hopes...guess I'll just do more kegels :headbang:

Erin,
I do get that once in a while. I also get these tissue floaters after I urinate.

Hugs,

What do you mean by "tissue floaters"? Lining from inside your bladder? I've thought maybe thats what it could be. Just shedding dead skin?

Exactly--I think they are parts of my bladder lining and are stringy at times. I tend to see more when I flare.

I, too, have noticed clear-buger-like-mucous (is that such a word?) after I urinate and that I think is from my bladder. I see my uro/gyn this Fri 8/12 and have a list of questions to ask him - this is one of them. I will let you know what he says.

Since my urethra is :cussing: from being cathed Sat at ER, I am having a good flare right now! This may sound wierd but I am hoping it stays this way for 4 more days so the doc can see what is happening!!!! Not cuz I want the pain .. but so he can see me "in action" and figure out possible causes and/or treatment options for me.

If I see that stuff again this week, I want to save it for him to look at -- but with my luck it won't happen till next week-after my appointment.

I get a clear discharge around the time I ovulate - but it's from the vagina - not my urethra. I've not had any come out my urethra before.

I have had the white tissue paper in my urine. I also think it is the bladder lining. What I usually experience is complete relief after I pass it, almost like the tissue stuff hurts to go through my urethra. Ugh.........I will be interested to know what the doctor says.

Well, i feel a little better now knowing I'm not the only one. What a pain we all have to deal with...
Tara, definitely post what your doc says about it and good luck

Are you sure it is from the bladder? Like Kim, many women get a mucous discharge--it is fertile cervical mucous, and completely normal--which is why no gyn or uro would pick it up as infection. Maybe that's all it is?

I'm pretty positive thats not what it is. This is an everyday occurance and when I was trying to get pregnant I watched all that fertile cervical fluid stuff and NEVER saw it in my urine when i peed. This is only since I gave birth.
Maybe its just a new symptom for me, I have been having a beer everynight to wind down after the baby goes to sleep. I guess as long as there isnt any infection I wont worry too much.
Thanks for all your input!
