Has anyone tried the canned crescent rolls and biscuits that you bake in your own oven? If it did work for you was there a certain brand you used? Thanks!

I've used them frequently because I don't have the time to roll out the crescents. Are they flarefree? - I don't know. I haven't had them in a while, but I think I was ok with them. I use any of them. I am not a gourmet cook. A friend of mine says a gourmet is someone who can make a meal by adding water and opening at least two envelopes for flavor etc. Non - gourmet just dumps the can in the pot to heat it! (I do a little better than that)
Blessings

I'm okay with Pillsbury crescent rolls and Bisquick mix to make biscuits, pancakes, waffles, etc.

I do fine with Pillsbury Crescent Rolls -- and sometimes for a treat I roll a little mozzarella or Muenster cheese into the roll when I'm making them. Just put a little cheese on the wide end of the crescent roll, roll it up as usual, and make sure to squeeze the ends closed, then bake as usual. Voila -- cheese stuffed rolls :)

Can you all please post what other foods you use to get out of a flair?
I am in one, either from avacado, or msm.
thanks!
Maybe we should start a new thread with this topic.

I eat really boring food til the flare passes, all things tried & true for me. Only eat what you know is ok for you:)

eggs, toast, butter
plain chicken, white rice, steamed vegetables
plain steak, baked potato with butter, steamed vegetables

bottled water (Arrowhead is best for me)

Feel better soon!

Kadi, that sounds like my REGULAR diet! I used Pillsbury crescent rolls too (but not canned biscuits) and Bisquick Reduced Fat baking mix before I realized that I have a gluten intolerance and have had to give up all wheat and gluten in my diet. I'm having to learn how to mix the IC diet and the celiac diet and it's quite a process. I really loved using the Bisquick. The pancakes were the best, but the constant nausea, abdominal pains, gas, and so on were not worth staying with the Bisquick. Gotta get this under control too.

Blessings to all!

Geez, Carolyn, what's left to eat??? What a pain!! You're probably not the only one with this issue, how about starting a thread on combining the 2 diets & see if you can share tips with someone! Just a thought.

Hope you're doing well-

In some ways Kadi my diet has expanded, believe it or not. I can now feel safe eating corn and rice which I could not before the gluten intolerance. I've also found some great products at the health food store that help. I was SO excited when I found a vanilla cake mix that I could make for my birthday that was yesterday. I was like a kid with a new toy! The cake is gluten free and delicious too. Wow! What a gift to me on my birthday! Yes, there are lots of obstacles to overcome in combining the two diets and I am slowly but surely finding some things to eat. Also found a celiac website and message board like this one that is helping too. The Lord is really taking good care of me in this. He certainly knows that I am in need of something to eat so He is providing it as I knew He would. The process of making another huge change in my diet in less than two years is time consuming and almost overwhelming at times but I will make it. The Lord will see to that. He is so good to me.

Guess I could start a new thread in the "Diet & IC" section, couldn't I? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking for ideas, tips, and recipes. Celiac disease (CD) is at least something that can be treated with diet (the ONLY treatment), so I don't have to endure more side effects from medicines. Those just about killed me when I was trying meds for the IC. My stomach was already in a mess and the meds just made it much, much worse. In time my stomach will heal and I will be able to eat more than I am doing now. As with IC, it's a game of perseverance and endurance. By His grace I will make it.

Better go and start that new thread. Blessings to you, Kadi. Thanks for the encouragement. Maybe someone else can be helped by the new thread. Wouldn't that be great?

Carolyn:
are you able to tolerate any natural ic cures, like cysta-Q and Protek?
I have gastritis and so far the only natural thing that has bothered me is msm.
NO more of that for me!
But I can do 4 protek per day now.

What drugs did you try and what were the side effects?

Only natural cure that I have tried is glucosamine chondroitin with msm. It definitely did not work! As for prescription meds, I tried Urimar T for a year (worked but made me SO sick), Atarax (did not work and still made me sick), and Singulair (no effect at all in any respect). Because of all of my GI problems already, I have not wanted to try Elmiron or other things, especially with my past history. Also I have just realized that I am gluten intolerant and getting that under control may make it easier to take oral medications of all kinds later on. At this point my stomach and GI tract is in no condition to be aggravated further.

The best thing that has worked for me is PFD physical therapy. Though I have to take it easy with the strengthening exercises, the therapy has made a BIG difference in how I feel and how much pain I have. I am down to a frequency level of 10-14 (way down for me!) and my pain is down to a discomfort level. It has really worked well for me. I also have an interferential unit that I use when I have to be up on my feet longer than is comfortable for me.

Thanks for asking, Ellienor. I appreciate your concern. Hope this explains what's been going on with me and my treatment.

Blessings to you.
