Hi:
Just so you know this has been released, for those who take it. I have a high copay, and noticed that my copay was lower this month...Its the same copany that makes the generic under a different name (subsidary company??). The only thing I noticed is that the pill is thicker, I am assuming to make it harder to break, or chew..gotta go.

Thanks for sharing.
Hi
I don't know if anyone has experienced this or not. I usually don't get the generic oxycontin but this week I decided to try it. Boy is there a difference.
I take 40 mg every 8 hours and since I started this Monday I feel like Im taking candy.. I wish I could take these back to the pharmacist and get the real thing. :headbang:
Has anyone else noticed a difference??

I replied to IC-Sarah's post above about the generic not working for her. I guess I'm lucky because I can tell no difference.
You might want to check out her post as well to see if there are more replies.
I'm sorry y'all are going through this :(

Just a thought, but I do think it would be a good idea to take your pills to your pharmacy and ask them to verify that the prescription was filled correctly. And let them know they aren't working is the reason you question them. And if they did fill it correctly, when you go for a refill, specifically request that when they fill it with a generic, they use a different brand.

Currently, there is only one company making the generic oxycontin, there are not alternatives this brand Impax or something like that.

Hi:
It seems to work okay for me. I don't notice a difference. The only day I felt it was not working was when I had my period, the pain wasn't even touched by it. The brand name oxycontin seemed to tame it down a little. I may have waited too long to take the med.
Hi,
I too filled my last script 2 weeks ago and I feel like I too am taking nothing!!
I hate that I agreed to the generic. They told me they had the generic now and did I want it, but I had no idea it would be so different. I take 40mg every 8 hours and it is such a difference. I am so glad to read that it isn't just me. There are alot of medications out there that the generics don't work as good, so add this to the list. Now I have to wait until it runs out and I will tell my pharmacist to mark in my papers to never use generic again.. This is so horrible to have to wait!!!!!!!!! :headbang:
