retention?

Has anyone ever had elavil cause some retention? The few days that i have been on it i have had a hard time going. I'm not sure if it's the elavil or not.

When my uro first put me on elavil he said that one of the side effects is a relaxing of the bladder. I suppose it could be relaxing yours bit too much. You might call you uro and mention the symptoms you are having. Maybe you could take a smaller dose? How much do you take?

I am taking 25 mg, but i think i may try cutting one in half and see if that is any better. I just keep having a feeling of needing to go, even after i have gone and it's really annoying.

I am on 25mg of Elavil. It doesn't seem to cause my periodic retention - but other meds do! (see my list below)
