what antihistamines help

Has anyone take an antihistamine besides atarax or vistaril that has helped them with frequency?

I take Benadryl. Just the plain old Bendaryl (pink Colored) Kapseals (As they are called). I used to take this anyway at night to help me sleep and because I do have allergies. I have never had any funny side effects with Bendaryl. It always sort of calms me down and puts me to sleep (also helps a little with nausea).

I had a bad time with Hydroxyine, so I asked my Urologist about Benadryl since I was already taking itl. He said that it will help because it reduces the mast cells but you may have to take the maximum dosage to get a better effect (I was taking only 25MG). 50MG is what Nytol and Sominex put in their sleep preprations since Bendaryl is the same exact ingrediant. So the only thing is that you will get is VERY sleepy. It will not work as great as Hydroxine but it is a good alternative for those who cannot tolerate the really big guns.
