I have tried to take elmiron three times. The first time I had terrible stomach upset. the same thing happened a few years later when I tried it. After talking to an Elmiron rep at a support group meeting he told me to take the elmiron out of the capsile and sprinkle it on food. When I did that it caused a terrible flare in my bladder, (but no stomach upset!). I have such a hard time tolerating medications. So many of them flare my bladder up. Does anyone have the same reaction? Any ideas for me in how I could take it? I feel strongly that I need to somehow try and rebuild my lining. I have started looking up the meds that I have trouble with and am not sure which of the ingredients it is. I am sure it must be something similar and that it is just a matter of research to find out what causes the bladder to spasm and flare with some of these meds. Other meds which have done this to me are antiderpressants, trazadone, allegra ( a little), premarin, cymbalta. I want to be open minded and try new things but it seems like each time I do I get hit with spasms and flares. Ahhhh Yikes!
