I was wondering if people have to take the brand name CYSTOPROTEK to get the best effects from it. I am currently taking glucosamine sulfate/chondroitin sulfate and quercitin that has been recommended by my naturopath, made by the very high quality brand of Thorne Research. These ingredients are the main ingredients in the Cystoprotek, so I wonder if I should switch to the brand name or keep going with my current suppliments. Do you think that they will end up with the same result or is the cystoprotek somehow more potent than the individual suppliments? Or just more convienient because they are all in one big capsule?

The CYSTOPROTEK has other things that help the gluc and chond to absorb.
I am not taking the chance and taking the brand name.
Plus it didnt give me heartburn.
Guess what!
I have been in a 5 day remission and i think it was the CYSTOPROTEK samples that helped me!!
I ran out,, and a 30% flair crept back.. but not really bad.
I just got my order of 4 bottles.. I pray that it will take it all away again.
I also ate alot of white rice and quersitine and bromaline. ( I do make my own concoction with that one)
how are you? still good i hope?

I have been in a little flare, not too bad but still very discouraging. I plan to try the Cystoprotek capsules and see if I see a difference from my current suppliments I am on....

I took 3 today.
I must watch and make sure i drink water all day.. this is very important i think. When i dont,, even for 1/2 of a day,, i feel it.
So far so good.
In about 10% discomfort again, down from 30%.
Have you started them yet?

I was directed to take 6 CystoProtek a day and the same for the Algonot Plus.
I now take 4 Cysto Protek a day only.
I was told by the URO I went to that she new the guy that developed it and that his process was the best.

Scott,
Are you on any other meds or just the Cystoprotek?
Ellie,
I took one yesterday, they say to take one a day for the first 2 days then work up to the higher dose from there, so I will take one today too, even though I have been taking glucosamine/chondrotin/quercitin seperately for a few months now....

CystoProtek and Aloe Gel only.
My Naturopath may have a few other recommendations next week. I will let you know what they are if you are interested.

I think considering we have such a rare specialized problem, we don't have a lot of alternatives or generics available to us. We might find some formulations that have some of the ingrediants but if you look closely, they are not the same. Some components may be missing and that may be the deal breaker in that formulation. It's also the processing and who makes it that should be taken into consideration. I have read so many things about Cystoprotec and the company that makes this product, seems to be on the forefront of these types of formulations for IC patients. We don't have a lot available to us really. It's a short list. I am going to remain on Cystoprotec or at least as long as they wanted me to try Elmiron for and then give it a review.
I am basically doing what Scott is doing here. Aloe Vera and Cystoprotec for healing and am going to try the Elavil for pain to try and get me through until some of what I am doing hopefully kicks in (Can't tolerate Hydroxyzine at all so I do take Benadryl as an alternative).

I'm having great results with cystroprotect. Ever since taking it I've become stronger
and stonger and my stamina is slowly returning. .On a scale of 0-10 My pain was a 12 while on naproxen before doing the IC diet. The IC diet brought it to an 8 .I added cystroprotect and am now down to a 0-3.So, IC diet, naproxen, cystroprotect and trying to stay positive is really working so far.I do still get weak and have to rest
a lot,but the pain is SO much better.
