I am wondering if anyone has had this problem, I went to my Uro for my checkup and he has a Ultrasound machine in his surgery so it had a look at my bladder and kidney's, he found 2 lumps one on each kidney of course I freaked out.
I went thru an IVP and they found that the ureters from the Kidney's to the bladder had thinned down causing a build up of water in the kidney's.
So he decided to put stent's in the ureter's for about 3 weeks, it is normally done thru the bladder but he could not find the openings to the Ureter's so they decided to do it from the top ie.make incision in the back and put stent down into the bladder, this is done while you are awake in the x-ray dept.
So they put one down the right side but when they reached the bladder the pain it created was horrific so they decided to do one only.
Anyway it is two weeks on and it is flowing reasonably ok so the stent is coming out on the 25th July,2005 and we will see how it goes, I will let you know what happens.

All the Best :bonk:

Hello Ronald
I'm glad to hear that the procedure has helped but sorry that you had to go through such pain. Do they know what caused the thinning in the first place?

I hope this works and you won't ever have to have another.

Hi Rosalie,
Yes they think that it is caused by the scarring in the bladder which is slightly closing the outlets into the bladder, when they put a catherter into my bladder for a week and let the urine run straight out the kidney's cleared the water, but leaving a catherter in all the time is not feasible, hence the stents.
