I'm still trying to figure out which chemicals in topical products tend to cause flares. I think we need a list like the Elimination Diet with these on it.
I was fitted for and given a Pessary for a dropped bladder last Thursday. The nurse used Trimo-San Vaginal Jelly to insert it. I had to take it out by Friday evening due to pain and pressure. It threw me into a 4 day flare!
I am now reading the lubricant ingreidients :
Hydroxyquinoline Sulfate 0.025%: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate N.F. 0.01%: Adjusted with Triethanolamine to pH4. Glycerine, Carbomer N.F., Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate U.S.P., Methylparaben N.F., Perfume and Antifoam Emulsion N.F.
Could any of the above ingredients be the problem???? :hmm: I know Methylparaben has been said to cause flares. If so, what lubricant should I try to use to put it back in?
Any suggestions?

I would normally avoid perfume.

I don't react to Liquid silk and I believe I tried it because of a recommendation from this board somewhere.

Thanks Katrina. I will try to find Liquid Silk. :)
I was amazed that it had perfume in it! You would think something like that would be naturally Hypoallergenic. I think men make these things for us, don't you??? :bonk:

This will vary from person to person, you just have to journal what bothers you and avoid it in the future.

This is a very good topic penquin. :)

It reminds me of a massive (someone shoot me now please) flare I ended up in due to spermicide. You know the kind on condoms, lubrication gel and also suppository form. I seriously thought I was going to die. I don't even want to be in the same room with the stuff anymore. :lmao:
