New York City has enacted "potty parity." Philadelphia is considering it. For each toilet in a men's restroom, two must be built in the women's restrooms. New York's law applies to most new public assembly construction, as well as places that are undergoing renovations. Places of public assembly are defined in the law as any arena, bar, concert hall, convention hall, movie theater, public dance hall, stadium, or theater open to the public. Philadelphia sponsor Frank Rizzo says: "I've been in situations where women have actually had to take over the men's room because of the length of the lines for their facilities. I think women understand this more so than men, how serious an issue this is."
Cool, huh? More potties are a good thing :)
