I was at ER (again) on Sat 7/2. They said I was dehydrated, then proceeded to drain 400 cc of urine from my stubborn bladder.
It seems like every time I am at ER (which is averaging about every 6 weeks now - and I'm usually there 2-3 times every 6 weeks) they tell me I'm dehydrated and to drink more water. I get very mad when they say that .. cuz all I drink is water!!! I drink 24-36 oz at work and then come home and drink another 24-48 oz of water or milk.
Does anyone else have trouble with dehydration?
I just don't understand how or why I am always dehydrated. It's not like I am sweating it out - I have a/c at work, car, home. I know I get overheated/heat exhaustion easily so I make sure I drink extra water on those extra warm days.
I also don't get how I can be dehydrated, yet retain 400 cc of urine! I tried to ask my primary doc office today and the nurse told me to watch my bp over the next few days - cuz my bp was extremely high for me on Thurs 6/30 and on Sat 7/2. The nurse said she spoke with the doc on-call and he doesn't think my meds are increasing my bp. This could have been the pain causing it to go up.
I just want answers - I am tired of doc "practicing medicine" on me and then for no other reason tell me to drink more water. I am concerned that I may be drinking too much water - thus the urine retention. And if I am retaining too much urine then my bladder hurts - then my bp goes up.
I know you can't offer medical advice on the website - but any info or suggestions would be appreciated. Is there another website that may help me get some answers?
My meds this week are Levaquin 500mg (1 daily), Celebrex 200mg (1 daily), Protonix 40mg (1 daily), Elavil 25mg (1 daily), Ortho Evra (birth control patch), and Percocet 7.5-325 (as needed for pain).
