Has anyone tried a waterbirth? I was thinking while I was in the bath today that when I have a baby I should do it in water...as taking a bath is the best symptom relief I have found so far....So I wanted to know if anyone has tried that? Thanks!

Hey Emily, I have heard that it is realxing to some. My hubby wants me to do that but I want an Eperdial on this one so don't know how much I would be able to feel my bottom half to move. Good luck with your decision. I would also ask your Dr about the pro and cons of them.

I know it would feel great because at 7 months pregnant my greatest relief comes from swimming and floating around my fitness centres pool. I never knew that water could feel so wonderful. Takes away all my aches and pains while I am in it. It is the only way I can excercise that my bladder will tolerate.
I have thought of this while floating in the pool. How it must take away some of the pain of childbirth. I am having an OB deliver me in the hospital though, so not going that route, but very interesting.
It would be nice!

Anyone else have experiences/feelings on this? I am not pregnant but thinking about how to have a flare-free pregnancy and delivery....

I've read a lot about this, but it's been a while. I know that for a while several years ago, most birthing centers made provisions for water deliveries. When I had mine, it was still the strap to a table in stirrups routine with husband in the waiting room. It's soooo much better now --- and fathers need to be a part of it.

I would love to try a water delivery. But I want an epidural more, and unfortunately you can't do both.
One of my best friends had a water delivery at home with her second child and did very well.
For me, drugs are the only way to go;)
