Don't ever lose hope or stop trying --- one day you will be posting your own success story.

I know exactly what you mean, Mags! Reading success stories helps us all when we are going through the difficult times and is expecially helpful to those just beginning an IC journey. Many times when a person achieves success, they quickly go back to their busy life and don't take the time to come back here and post their success story. Please remember this, Mags, when you do get there (and the chances are VERY good that you will!) and post it so that others will benefit from your experience.
It took me a couple of years, but I did get there...posted my story earlier this spring. I think it is still there somewhere in the archives.
I hope you will achieve success very quickly!

Mags, I have always felt funny about talking of my success because I didn't want to appear as if I were bragging to those who are still in severe pain. I was there for a long time and I know how the pain feels. Now, after years of treatment and Elmiron, I am relatively pain free and can eat and drink most anything in moderation. I still avoid sodas, caffeine, and MSG and I always drink organic milk. I used to avoid alcohol like the plague but I can have a drink every now and then. There is always hope. I never thought I'd be able to enjoy some of the things I do now. By the way, even though I am virtually pain free now, I am addicted to this website and read it every day!
thanks for all your responses. it is hard to think that i will ever be a sucess story right now. have been in terrible pain for 4 days now and have had ic for 4 years. been on elmiron for 1 year.
