I have a family reunion to go to and I would like to share a few cocktails with the rest of my family. I know beer and wine are out and that I am better off going with either vodka, rum or gin. However, if juices and carbonated beverages are out, then does any one have any suggestions as to what I could mix with any of the above alcohols? Thanks!

Ice cubes? heeheehee!!!! There are quite a few REAL suggestions on this website in the dietary section under beverages.......just a little IC humor in this heat wave in NY state. How DO you Southerners stand this??!!?? Have fun- families are very important.

I drink bottled spring water at family affairs. Nobody ever questions me about it since they all know I have IC.

Hi! First of all, I hope you have a wonderful time at the reunion! My entire family all live within 10 miles of our family, so we are fortunate to have
"reunions" quite often. Personally, I cannot handle alcohol anymoe, but I sure understand wanting to share a drink with your family.
Do you take prelief? It is a pill/powder that takes the acid from foodss, saving our bladders from crying!!! ;) Carbonation doesn't seem to bother my bladder, so I used to loke wine coolers. Come to think of it, if you like kaluah, they make bottled alcoholic drinks in small bottles, and most of them are milk based, without carbonation. Sorry I can't be of more help, but enjoy the reunion, and by the way... :welcome: to the IC boards. Please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. Have a safe happy, healthy trip. All the best, Sheri
