I have not taken the capsule form but have tried the oil (Oreganol). It seemed to irritate me. Try putting it on your tongue and you would see why - it burns like fire. I do know that it got rid of a toe nail fungus for me (topically). It is supposed to be one of the most powerful anti-bacterial, anti-fungals available. Maybe I should try the capsules.

I have tried the Oil of Oregano just recently after a chiropractor suggested it. Last week I needed Ibuprofen 4 times a day. I started the Oil of Oregano on Friday, this is Monday and the pain is greatly decreased. I take 50mg twice a day but may raise it to 3 times a day as it suggests on the bottle. It almost feels like I am taking pyriduim. Sometimes I almost forget I have IC. My daughter is 11 and recently diagnosed as well. She will be trying the Oil of Oregano this week too, 1/2 my dose. Good Luck.
Age 41, symptoms since age 15, diagnosed finally at age 40.
Meds: Elmiron and Deterol

Take care, Trishann
