IC Belly?

Does anyone know what the term "IC Belly" means?

I'm newly diagnosed :woohoo: , and am anxious to get my profile together and tell my story.

This term caught my eye...I'll get into it with my next post, unless I'm lucky enough to find a fellow member who can share their expertise :) .

When I get IC Belly, it is usually during a flare and I literally look very pregnant. Worse then your normal bloating look, or at least mine is. The good thing is it usually only last during a flare.

:welcome: Hi Tracy, I beleive it refers to major bloating, at least thats how I interpret it her is list of symtoms that have been posted previously from other members here scroll thru it and you will find ic bell mentioned amonst many other related symotms worth taking alook, I have learned a lot from reading these old posts, good luck to you... :angel:

I had ic belly and I was hostipalized at that time I was in so much pain.

Kim from what I have read thru out the older posts is a swelling down there, what were you symptoms when you went in, was it bloating, what did did the tell you, I guess I am trying clarify what is ic belly is medically, I much like lesli have a sevrer than average bloating thru out whole month, but never to the extent of goign to the hospital, what did they say was happeing that caused it, I mean is is the bladder swelling,is it gas? sorry for so many quetions, just trying to figure out too what exactly it is, thanks for any info.....

I was suffering really bad bloating and pelvic pain and pressure and I could not urinate at all. They said I had urinary retention also and that is when they did and cysto and hydro in the hostipal and found out I was not emptying my bladder properly and my bladder was inflammed. The cramps was so bad I felt like I was hving contractions done there like I was going to give birth and no pain med touched they gave me morphine dialudud nothing worked.
