Anyone here take ditropan xl ?

Hi all. My urologist just gave me some oxytrol which is an oxybutynin(ditropan xl) transdermal system.. a patch. I havent tried this yet, because Im not sure how well it works and what kind of side effects it has. Can anyone give me any info on this? If you have taken this, I am curious to know what your experience with it is. Thanks all!

I have not used the patch, but I have taken the ditropan XL 10mg up to 3X per day. My problem was that whenever my bladder starts filling, I have severe pain and the ditropan suppressed the urge to urinate sooooo.... you know the rest. I haven't taken it in quite sometime. I hope you have some relief with it.

Hi Jen,

I tried Ditropan XL about a year ago & I didn't really have any side effects (much to my surprise b/c I was expecting they would be bad!). Unfortunately I can't say it helped but then again, I don't think I stayed on them for more than 2 weeks. Sorry I couldn't be of more help but at least I can let you know there were no side effect problems for me (also, apparantly the patch has less side effects).

I take Ditropan XL when needed. It helps me. I can not take the Detrol LA because it makes me retain.

I have been using the patch for the past 6 months and I love it. I was on Ditropan XL prior to that. The only downfall-my insurance doesn't cover the patch yet. Good luck.

I take 20 mg a day. It has really helped me.
