Hi, Im sue from Ontario. Im 46 married 19 yrs with a 17 yr old son~

I just found out i have IC a few wks ago~ :) Im so glad to have found a forum about this stuff b/c im clueless.

Hi Sue and :welcome: to the IC network. Their are a bunch of great women and men here. I am sorry that you were diagnosed with IC. IC can be a very difficult disease to understand. I have it since my son c-section birth in 1996. But I was not diagnosed until 2001. For me I have tried most medication and treatments and they dont work for me. I had the Interstim put in 2001 and a revision on it in May of this year. For me my dr said b/c I went so long without a diagnose and no meds this is why they did not work. I suggest starting out with the patient handbook located at:

It list a bunch of really good info. It also has the IC-Diet. Which is a list of food that bother the IC bladder.

Remember there is a ton of medicine, both over the counter and presciption, and treatments that help alot of IC'ers. But remember with IC, just because someone has success with a med or treatments, does not mean it will work for everyone. But there can be a normal life with IC and people do go into remission for months at a time. Again :welcome:

I am from Ontario too. Sarnia which is southwestern Ontario. Border town to Port Huron.

If you don't mind me asking what part of Ontario are you in.

I'd just like to add another :welcome: to the IC Network. My IC was diagnosed back in 1975. It took a while for me to find which foods and drinks I need to avoid and which treatment options work best for me, but my IC has not worsened and I do feel good most of the time.
