nexuim, stomach pain and IC

I have been on nexium for 1 year, and yesterday switched to pepcid ac.
now my bladder pain is back 50%.
Has anyone had this happen when quitting a ppi?

I've been taking Nexium every day for a couple of years, I never have quit, so I don't know if it would bother my IC to do so. Maybe it's the Pepcid, why not try something else? Kathi

Have you tried Prilosec? It's very similar to Nexium, but much less expensive.

I take prevacid and have been taking it for almost 5 yrs now and it does not help my ic symptoms. I am glad it helps yours. I can't take any other stomach meds besides prevacid because I have a bleeding ulcer and the other ones causes my ulcer to bleed.

I dont think Nexuim is helping the bladder.
I think I am in a flare because of the insure, and possibily another powder remedy I tried the morning before...
I wonder why you have a bleeding ulcer even though you are on a PPI for 5 years.?
I am reading that the ppi meds do a bad number on our stomachs and maybe cause alot of our problems.
Have you ever tried to get off of them?
I am switching to pepcid ac - 20 mg 2x per day for a while to give my stomach a rest from the nexium.
Already i have less pain in my stomach....
Just a thought.

Because my insurance did not want to pay for prevacid and deny it for a short time and only would cover prilosec and that caused me to have a bad reaction and caused me to be hostipalized for a bleeding ulcer. I seem to do alright with my ulcer as long as I am on Prevacid which I am now.
