In Florida

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am in Florida finally and staying with my parents. Still hanging in there, though. Please pray for my parents and I as I am trying to get them to understand IC in person....will check in often though.

So far my parents have not been very understanding at all. I am in the midst of some horrible spasms and they just said, "Well, I guess this is something you'll just have to learn to live with." No pain meds with me at my parents and I am also spasming so bad I am retaining. I got a lecture from my Dad who said drink more water. My parents are seriously anti pain meds so I will just have to suffer. Florida is beautiful though and at least I'll get a tan. Hee-hee, then I won't look so pasty white when I feel rotten. I certainly haven't lost my sense of humor.

Hang in there Barb! I hope you feel better soon. Even though your parents may not understand or appreciate what you're going through, it sounds like they are trying to help and take care of you in the best way they know how to.

I'm not sure if my parents ever really understood what I was going through, although they remained supportive. Recently, however, both of them are having urinary tract problems so now suddenly they're talking my ear off about all this stuff! At least I'm in the position of being able to provide some actual advice!

Hope you have the opportunity to enjoy some of your recuperation time in FL!
