View Full Version : Pre-Employment Drug Test -- GOOD LORD

AGGH... I went to have my pre-employment drug test today.

Of course, I went to the facility having to go to the bathroom, but they made me wait soooooo long to go that my bladder went into complete spasm and I couldn't go when it was time to!!! That always happens if I'm made to wait. Then the lady starts banging on the door telling me to get out and go drink water because there were other people waiting, of course. So I get out and do that, but I know my bladder is already full -- I JUST CAN'T GO and I'm IN AGONY. My husband offered to go home and get me a catheter but of course, they don't let you take anything into the stupid bathroom with you, so that option was out.

So then I go back in there, and FINALLY get some urine out, just enough for the test -- and it is the GROSSEST urine, with pieces of my bladder in it. The only thing better would have been if I were taking Urised and had blue pee :lmao:

(I also took a nice poop in the test room toilet for good measure -- all that pushing to pee made me have to, oh well ;) ) I think I plugged it up too :biglaugh:

So I go out there and the lady looks at my gross pee and looks at me and looks at my pee and says finally, "Are you ok???" I said "NO -- I have interstitial cystitis. My urine looks like that a LOT. In addition, I can't pee half the time without a catheter and the other half of the time I'm on the can every 10 minutes. It hurts badly either way and that is why I am on all these damn pills!" *I hold up plastic grocery bag filled with medicines*

She just looked at me with a horrified look and said "Oh my God, you poor dear, bless your little heart!" And I swear I thought she was going to cry. She wrote "poor girl has bad bladder condition, takes pain meds & can't urinate well" on my form, I swear. Then I told her I probably clogged the toilet and she said it was okay, she'd plunge it :lmao:

I am telling you... it has been a hellish day. I feel feverish. May be getting a UTI or a cold. I can't tell which. Sad, isn't it?

(((HUGS)))Jen, sorry you went through all that, but you know what, you also taught that woman something she never knew, that there are instances where someone will have problems "going" and now she will be a little more kind when that happens. Just try your best to relax. (((HUGS))) again.

Don't you just love moments like that! I am sorry you had a bad day. I had to educate the ultrasound tech when I had my abdominal ultrasound a couple weeks ago. I told him when I went in that I might have to go to the bathroom before we were done even though I was going before we started. We were about 15 minutes into it and he wanted me to role on my side, and I had to go. He asked when I got out what the condition was that I had, so he got an education and I did to as he was telling me about what he was seeing on the ultrasound!

Sorry that you had such a trial at the drug test. Stopping up the toilet cracked me up though. Hope you feel better.

Oh man, what a day you had!

Hate to say it because it's such a horrible experience you had, but it made me chuckle too when I got to the 'stopped up toilet' part. -Serves 'em right to have to plunge it after making you wait,..think they call that Karma!

I know.... I thought it was hilarious, and definite karma, about stopping up the toilet -- of course, at a drug testing facility, you're in there with a bunch of criminals getting tested for probation and things, so when I announced I stopped up the toilet the whole place got quiet and they all looked at me with a mix of suspicion and joy -- as if they couldn't believe a small woman like me could block a toilet , but they were thrilled that the center got what it deserved (they all had to wait forever too). :biglaugh:

My bladder is working again after a self-cath yesterday when I got home (to finish emptying), some antispasmodics, and a good long rest... I still feel crappy, but I think it's mostly stress from everything going on around here lately!!!!
