I just got my TENS unit. I am wondering how long the electrode pads last, and where I can get more. Do I have to order them from the company that I got the unit from? My insurance covered the unit. Does insurance usually cover extra electrodes? Thanks, Jonee

HI Jonee
I got the tens and the rs 4 stimulator but there was a phone number in there to call for supplies. So call the company and ask them if insurance covers it. If they dont know then call your insurance company. I did not run out as I don't use it anymore - thank GOD don't have the need for it now

The RS Medical company sends me new pads each month. I replace them when they are no longer sticky, but I dont use the machine all the time, just about 30 min a day. The insurance paid for the pads. (Now the insurance decided that it won't pay for the unit b/c it is "experimental treatment" so I have to file yet ANOTHER appeal....)

Thanks for the replies. I guess that the insurance is paying to rent the unit for now, and then if I keep it, it will be converted to a sale. I don't know if the insurance co will go for that or not. That is just what the company that I got the unit is telling me. I guess that I will just give them a call when my pads get worn out.

When I used one, my insurance would pay for rental and the pads, but wouldn't buy it for me. They ended up paying almost $800 in rental for a $400 piece of equipment. TENS units were much more expensive then.

Insurance paid for my tens. (Have had two now. Other one I should get fixed). I was allowed 4 electrodes a month. You can buy a glue gel that is made just for them so they can last longer. If you want the web site just message me and I will be happy to give it to you. I buy all my tens items from them.
