breast cancer & liver problems with elmrion?

Is it true some studies show that premenopausal women should not take this because it can cause breast cancer and you should have your liver checked from time to tim?

http://www.orthoelmiron.com/ If you take Elmiron you should get your liver checked....the risk for cancer is low and as long as you visit your gyno regularly and get checked you shouldn't have to worry about it because of Elmiron.

I've never heard of elmiron causing cancer --- where did you hear it?

In that breast cancer study, it's important to remember that Elmiron was added to EXISTING breast cancer cells. It did NOT turn benign cells into cancer, it only had an effect on already-existing breast cancer cells. It did seem to make some of those cells grow faster, but it also made some other types of breast cancer cells grow slower. So it seems to actually inhibit the growth of some kinds of breast cancer cells.

Also, this is only one study - many of those one-study headlines get knocked down after further research.
