I was just wondering if I will continue to get worse? I have had the same symptoms for 6 months. Thanks

There is no definate answer here. In most cases IC is not progressive. The sooner you get the treatemnt the more likely it is that remisssion is in your future and you will get better not worse. In a few cases people have progressed. It is unlikely you will be one of those people.

I have had diagnosed IC for thirty years now and my IC is, if anything, better than at diagnosis because I have learned which treatment options work for me and which foods and drinks I need to avoid. Only a very tiny percentage of IC patients progress.

One thing to remember is that for every person posting that they are in pain, there are literally hundreds out there who have IC but are not posting because they feel good and don't feel a need for the support of the boards.

Thanks Donna..I guess you are right.. I'm sure when people get to feeling better they go on with their life... It is just scary.. I am now on 50 mgs of Elavil..I started it last night. I didnt get up once to pee.. But this morn I still have that full feeling. I hope the longer I am on the meds it will get better. Thanks
