I went a couple of years ago. Had lots of fun. Went to several shows. One of the girls I work with just got back and she said she had a great time. She seen Mickey Gilley, the Presleys, etc. I seen the Japanese performer that is so poplar. Can't think of his name but the show was good. If you don't go see him,. you need to go tour the bathrooms in that theatre. Beautiful. Flowers everywhere. Pool table in the mens restroom. All kinds of neat things

Years ago, I used to work at Silver Dollar City, an 1880 themed amusement park, near Branson. It was fun, but that was when Branson was small.
I would recommend "Shepherd of the Hills" outdoor live play based on the book of the same name. Also, avoid hillbilly shows like The Baldknobbers, etc., unless that's what you like. Go for any name brand that you like.
Boating on Tablerock Lake is fun, too. I bet Branson has a very good online website for tourism. Have fun! Carla

Lots of our friends in Oregon have gone there on vacations. They talk about the wonderful country music. We've never gone --- we're not particularly country music fans.

I actually went with my entire class in high school for our senior trip if you can believe that! :lmao: Even for a bunch of 17-18 year olds, it was fun ... I think we went to EVERY miniature golf course and there are zillions!
Have fun!!

I can't believe you've never been there - being so close. Silver Dollar City is really cool. Your kids will love it if you go there. I've never been to any of the shows. When we go that way we usually go to SDC & the cave & drive-through zoo in Springfield.

I really want to go the the Dixie Stampede, the dinner show where they have the buffalo stampede and so forth. I am used to rodeos so I am sure the smell of buffalo won't matter to my family!! LOL
I think we'll eb staying at this little cottage resort on Indian Point, bavarian something or other. It's next to the resort that family of mine are staying at. It's only 3 minutes to Silver Dollar City. and it has free bikes for the kids to ride and a cool game room and a nice pool.
I really don't want to go to any of the other shows. Well, I would not enjoy them as much as I would with the kids, and trying to get them to sit still and be quiet an so forth, andmy hubby isn't in to shows either, so I'd have to make a trip back withmy "adopted Mom". She and I would enjoy that a lot together.
I am not a shopper either so I won't be hitting the outlet malls much. I hear there is a GOOD quilt shop in Branson tho.
anyone else have any information on Branson???
Thanks
Michelle,.

Michelle the Ducks are really great to ride. It is a car that look like a boat with wheels that can either go in water and on land. They usually give tours of the area and usually go in the water at a local watering hole. We did them one time in Hot springs. I also have been to Branson, but the last time was like 10 yrs ago. Also if you like outdoor stuff the main Bass Pro Shop headquaters are near to Branson. Not sure of the exact time you can look up Bass Pro Shops website. They have a huge aquiram and taxidermy stuff. We got a Bass Pro Shop in Bossier City a couple of yrs ago but it is nothing compared to the one in MO. Have fun. Oh yeah Silver Dollar City is great. There is also a Winery in Branson to. You can tour it and see how they make the wine and let you taste it if you like.

YES, We toured the mens' restrooms. The girl that just back from Branson said she didn't see the show but they toured the bathrooms and would not have believed it if they had not seen for themselves.

I wonder if I can arrange a tour of the bathrooms of all the major shows in Branson???
I bet they'd be hilarious!
And Bass Pro is in Springfield, MO, just a few miles North of Branson, MO. We've been there many times and the last time I let me hubby go there he spent 300 dollars!! Besides, been there seen that and bought the t-shirt. Literally... I am wearing a t-shirt I bought at Bass Pro now. It has cute little lab puppies on it.
Keep the ideas coming ladies!

We've been to the Dixie Stampede here in TN. It was really fun. If I remember correctly the ticket per person is 35.00 for each adult and almost 20.00 for each child. Pretty pricey....but when you think about how much you pay for dinner and a movie elsewhere...it almost evens itself out.
It's fun....do it once anyway! And let us know what all you do when you return! :)
